1. Shop locally. very few internet sellers offer quality brand name floors.
2. Select only brands that are available from multiple companies. Many companies such as
home depot, lowes, and lumber liquidators only sell their store brands. Brands that aren't available under the same name elsewhere. This removes the ability to comparison shop identical products.
3. Get your flooring installation contractor yourself. Many companies will offer a sizeable discount if they are not responsible for the installation.

5. Don't go shopping until you have had the floor professionally measured by your installer.
This way the store knows your serious and will be more likely to discount the price.
6. Finally, since you are shopping a name brand, comparison shop between two to three stores and let them know you are shopping for the best price and that you have your own installer and are willing to pay cash.
