The type of door can also make a world of difference. The basic types are hinged, sliding, folding and revolving types. The hinged type is when the door is hinged on one side allowing it to swing open in only one direction. The improvement on this type is the swinging type. This type is made in such a way that though it is hinged on only one side it can swing in both directions opening inwards and outwards. The sliding type is when the panels are mounted on overhead and floor tracks. These panels can slide over one another in both directions - right and left. These are used in situation of space constraints but their regular use popularity has also increased phenomenally. The folding type is when the two or more panels are joined together by hinges. These hinges allow the panels to fold over each other in whichever direction you want. Revolving type is the one where the panel is attached at the centre with means of an axis and the far ends of the panel can be pushed, which causes the panel to pivot about the axis. This type is not generally used in homes as it takes up too much space but it is quite ubiquitous in commercial establishments.
